We are currently recruiting for a Strategic Advisor to work within a newly established multi-disciplinary team of around 40 people, helping to shape and propel the development and deployment of services. This full-time role offers 40/60 office/home-based hybrid working and the possibility to work a compressed 4-day week. The pay rate is £16.84ph and the contract is initially 3-6 months with a view to being extended.

The Strategic Advisor will be responsible for developing the new three-year-strategy, the annual business plan and the PMO function. You will contribute to the culture and working environment of the entire group, assisting in delivering change as we work with the Director and senior team to refine the strategy and direction.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the development, implementation, and oversight of a new multi-year strategy to deliver the mission and strategic objectives with targeted action, proactive internal and external engagement, and clear, measurable success indicators.

  • Support the promotion of the strategy, helping to ensure buy-in to our plans and enabling the whole to participate in delivering them.

  • Contribute to the development and monitoring of the Annual Business Plan; and

  • Support our Project Management Office function - including contributing to the design and delivery of a refreshed Project Management toolkit for all users, assisting in the collection of regular programme and project performance reports for senior stakeholders and the provision of high-quality secretariat support for the Portfolio Board.

Essential criteria:

  • Experience of being part of a strategy team, contributing to the development or implementation of a high-level strategy.

  • Ability to collate detailed information from multiple sources and present in a format that is clear and easily understood.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels

  • Highly organised with good attention to detail; and

  • The ability to work at pace and manage competing priorities.

  • Prince2 (or equivalent) qualification.

  • Experience of working with the Prince2 and / or Agile methodology.
