A Recruitment is currently recruiting for on behalf of our client, a Process Operative to work for the Bamber Bridge, Preston site of an international organisation.

Permanent/Full Time 40 hours

Shifts on a rota 6am to 6pm /6pm to 6am

Starting salary £25,500 plus OT available rising to £32K once trained

The Process Operative reports directly to the Production Team Leader ensuring the mill runs at optimized efficiency throughput whilst maintaining the company quality std's and UFAS requirements. To ensure that a high level of Health & Safety and hygiene is adhered to at all times throughout the mill.

Purpose of The Job

  1. Communicate to Colleagues and other departments if there are any issues in achieving the plan

  2. Ensure Environmental management system is followed and adhered to complying with BS EN ISO 14001/50001

  3. Ensure their shift is maintained to high level of H&S , and any issues are communicated in a timely manner and actions completed

  4. Maintain site processes/std in line with the UFAS code of practice

  5. Participate in the Tier accountability process and update the daily vis board

  6. To ensure that the working area is maintained to an acceptable std of Hygiene throughout shift

  7. Run the blending/pelleting and master weigh process in an efficient manner to deliver the production plan on time

  8. Communicate all issue/delays against the plan to colleagues and other departments

  9. Proactively reduce any areas that actively are generating waste

  10. Maintain the routine machine maintenance and cleaning schedules

  11. Optimise utilisation of finished product bin space

Further details:

Intake operative - basically managing bulk raw material goods in deliveries, main duties include booking in transport raw material deliveries, allocating RM to silo's, incoming quality checks, outgoing quality checks, loading Bulk wagons through the DSL system, offloading premix pallets and medics etc. The rates for the role are Intake £25,500 per annum whilst training. Press operative.

The press op is a production role running 3 presses. Ideal candidate would have DSL experience, animal feed experience (not essential). Shift working experience including weekends. £25,500 training rate going up to £32k once trained. Working shifts from 6am - 6pm and 6pm - 6am on a 3 week block with set shift pattern off i.e. 5 days off. Shifts change during winter months when the feed industry slows down. This will provide a very structured timetable for holidays, gym and days off during quieter periods This is a fantastic progressive company with great salary and anyone from a food industry will strive in the business.
