Adecco are currently seeking a Digital Project Coordinator / Administrator for a Local Authority based in Lewes, East Sussex.

  • Full Time - Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week

  • Temporary role - 12 months

  • £20.58 per hour PAYE / £27.16 per hour Umbrella

  • Hybrid working - Office based 1 to 2 times per week in Lewes for project meetings, remainder at home

Purpose of the Role:


The Digital Project Manager will lead in the work to bring our historical microsites in-house, working with business owners to create and maintain sites that are accessible, secure, and managed to high standards.


ESCC has a varied web estate where historical sites were created and hosted by external providers. We now want to de-risk this situation by re-creating these sites on council hosting, using our Content Management System (Umbraco). The Digital Project Manager will work with service departments and the Microsite Governance Group to agree priorities and schedules and then supply ready-to-publish content to the Web Editor (Microsites) who will build the new sites.


Working as part of the Communications team, this role will help ensure that all of our websites are fully accessible to all of our residents, are engaging and meet our legal requirements under the Equalities Act.


Key tasks:



  1. Manage the backlog of microsite projects, agreeing priorities and schedules, managing the risk register etc.

  2. Help departments define the purpose, audience, and key messages for each microsite they own

  3. Help business owners prepare their content audit spreadsheets, review existing microsite content to see what can be reused or needs to be rewritten, allocate ownership

  4. Identify new e-forms to be created, agree ownership

  5. Enforce standards/best practice on all new microsites: privacy statements, accessibility statements, run accessibility audits, check content readability etc

  6. Contact 3rd part software vendors to get their accessibility statements and update main accessibility statement.

  7. Compile reports and present to relevant committees and groups as required


Essential Key Skills and Abilities



  • Excellent organisational skills.

  • Effective written and oral communication with the ability to influence others and establish credibility in the context of managing change

  • Ability to use IT to manage projects e.g. Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.

  • Ability to deliver projects on time and in budget, including making decisions when dealing with constant and conflicting demands on time

  • Analytical ability and flexible problem-solving skills; working constructively with colleagues across the organisation

  • Ability to influence without authority and offer credible information and advice


Essential Knowledge



  • Knowledge about website accessibility and legal requirements for public sector bodies

  • Knowledge of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and information governance best practice

  • Understanding of what makes great web content

  • Understanding of the public sector


Essential Experience



  • Experience of project management, working across and between different partners

  • Ability to effectively manage, prioritise and organise workload, and work under pressure to meet competing deadlines.

  • Able to work on own initiative without supervision

  • Representation at and organisation of meetings and events

  • Writing and editing reports

  • Experience in interpreting complex information and presenting this effectively
